I already did Germany, and I have my doubts about Hitler being able to give me a well rounded perspective on Austria.

I'm currently working on my masters in history with a focus on the Russian Revolution, so if you need any suggestions I would be more than happy to help.

I don't know how interested you are in historical fiction or ancient history, but the Emperor and Conqueror series by Conn Igulden are amazing. He has historical notes at the back to describe what's real history and what's speculated or made up and much of it is true to real life. The emperor series is about Julius Caesar's rise to power, and then his fall whilst the conqueror series is about the same for Genghis Khan. Even if you don't read them for your challenge, they're a great read!
