Her question is should she just go for it? She wants to say something like, and I quote, "I'm not sure what's happening on your side because your words say taken but your actions say single and interested, so just to let you know i like you a whole lot'

I'd that's what she wants to say. The best approach for this situation is to be straightforward and honest. Otherwise, shell keep tip toeing around the issue and will never get an answer

@fell_equinox I think she shouldn‘t mention that she heard that from friends to avoid the notion that she may be gossiping about him(it complicated things for a friend).

That's true

If I were in her shoes I‘d definetely ask him if he is taken. If she reveals her emotions it may work in her favour, or it would just make their friendship really awkward

Alright, so I told her that shes gotta dip her toes in the water before she jumps, and ask if he's taken

Let us know how it goes

Yeah

Will do. She said she just wants to get it off her chest. She's tired of not telling people how she feels, and watching them slip away. I told her that I know it's rough sometimes, but she really needs to test the waters. They're really cute together and I don't want her to spill her heart out for someone who's taken

As an inexperienced love expert( I know the irony), I‘ve been at a point where I just wanted to be straight to the point about my emotions, but some circumstances have taught me that timing is good too because saying things at the wrong time complicates things. I‘m not going to tell her to wait long, but she should speak to him when he is ready to listen

Try to figure out how to bring it up casually so it wont sound like an interrogation

@fell_equinox is right. It also matters a lot how she says it.
Sad story: I had a great friend like hers last year. Someone told him that he thought we were dating because we were always together. My friend felt awkward and tells me out of the blue that he couldn‘t dream of dating me because I‘m like a sister to him and it destroyed my dreams right before I could even have them lol

She's too scared to ask
I literally told her that all she's gotta do is hit him with a "you got a girl" and I even offered to do it for her. She's the "like more than one guy at once" type of girl but I'm really trying to play Cupid here and get these two together
aviva · 5 years ago
@lentil I don‘t think you should talk to him for her, but I get why she‘s scared though. If he really has a relationship with someone else, you probably shouldn‘t try to induce a relationship on them(it may cause more harm than good).

Sorry for the late update. Lots of stuff happened so I'm gonna make this quick
Apparently, someone overheard her talking about the guy she likes, and that someone told him that she likes him. The dude she likes got super distant, so naturally she and him briefly stopped talking. Eventually she got a text from him asking for her to call. She told him how hurt she was that he was being distant, he apologized, then brought up his gf. They've been dating for a year-ish and he said even if they broke up he wouldn't date anyone cause he likes his girl so much. She called me right afterwards and just broke down. She was pretty hurt, and had to go back the next day like it never happened. They still talk, but she said he's different ever since he found out

I feel like it's my fault for hyping her up. I feel like shit that this happened
Why does stuff like this happen, especially to amazing people like her?
fell_equinox · 5 years ago
Shell feel like shit for a while but eventually shell realize it's for the better. Now she wont keep herself up at night with what ifs
aviva · 5 years ago
Fell has a point. It isn‘t your fault, @lentil . I believe it would‘ve happened anyway if he found out from whoever. And from your story, she wasn‘t even the one that told him. She‘ll definetely find someone amazing in the future. There‘s still hope
