Gotta say that, while this wasn't exactly my kind of movie, that art style is phenomenal.

In one word: it’s fresh
Maybe not to comic readers, but the character was new and different to your classic Spider-Man. Even Gwen seemed a tad cookie cutter
Miles went through a group of expectations and exceeded them
He had fresh powers, a fresh outlook on how Spider-Man should act
Anyway, onto the actual film review
The characters personalities and motives are introduced in a cohesive and realistic way. It’s introduced in what they say and do without being forced down your throat
The comic theme is very present. In every scene, there are lines and dots representative of a comic style. The comedy was alright. There were some really good moments and a few where it just didn’t hit.
Spoiler Alert The twist was very unexpected. You never would’ve guessed it was THE GUY until he appeared at the apartment. (Unless you’ve read the comics)

Only two issues with the movie. While it was extremely consistent and realistic, I can’t believe that there are 5 helicopters in the sky when the group swings away (after they test Miles) Peter Porker is the only exception. Another point is how Gwen’s hair is shaved into a hand print at first and somehow has brown underneath

I loved Nic Cage in it though.

My one small complaint was the design of kingpin. He had too much body, not enough head IMO

I really liked the movie. I had to get used to the art style and at times I thought it seemed stutter, but it's something that just could be done in live action. With the black an white Spider-Noir and the extremely cartoony Spider-Ham, this simply wouldn't work or would look terrible.
The comedy was great throughout the movie, especially in the first few minutes.
In my opinion Kingpin wasn't too big, just rediculously big enough to give it that comic feel.
Mild spoiler: the is a moment he steps out his car and is actually bigger, that's some clowncar science right there

Kingpin is the absolute unit and I’m pretty sure his stature was meant to be comical and also cartoonish.
He’s a literal square
