Well we got a rescue leopard gecko two weeks ago and she was so fat, we simply named her Katschonka.

When I was a young itty-bitty 6 year old I had a golden retriever named Shadow. That's probably the weirdest name I can remember giving to a pet.

Growing up I had a black lab named gaylen and a pom named shama, had a dog name shadow, and my current cats are named hibari, uri, yin and yang. I think all my animals have had odd names

My dog's name is Björn Bork, because why not.

I have proper names for my cats, but they also have nicknames and I normally call them by their nicknames.
My cat boy is called Hercules, but somehow he got the nickname Bohboh. I think it's because he got a bit chonky at one point and it was a fitting sound to go with the chonk.
My girl cat is called Heidi, because she loves to hide, but her nickname is Ms. Fluffbutt. I think that speaks for itself.
