Need some help with ideas. I’m decorating corn hole boards for my daughter’s fifth grade class to auction to the parents. Each child will paint their own emoji on it. I want to add in other elements of popular culture that they can look back on in a few years and be embarrassed. What are some terms and phrases that became popular in the last few years that you know won’t last?

This entire experience has made me extremely unhappy and I'm going to have to go relearn the English language now

I’ll have to ask if they know any. I’m sure some have filtered down without then knowing the origin.

What are corn hole boards?

It’s a game that started in the Midwest of the US. They are two 3ft by 2ft boards each with a six inch hole near the top. You put them a certain distance apart and throw bags of corn kernels back and forth to score points. A quick google search for “cornhole rules” can give you the full picture of the game.

I asked my nephew. He wasn't much help, but I just heard him say RKO. Something we say when we wrestle. Also, xvarnah - too funny

I'm not a big help I guess, cause german teen culture might differ... But is "lost" a thing over there? Like when someone doesn't get it, they just say "lost" and everyone's repeating it. At least they do that here lol.

And I'm not even sure if they know what lost means

I dunno if it’s been mentioned but I think “yeet” And “Oof” definitely won’t last

Or perhaps Harambe

Baby Yoda is a great one. Harambe is a little too old for them. Any idea where “oof” came from? They do say that one a lot.

I think oof is from Roblox. It's the noise characters make when they die

Yeah. And unfortunately I suffer the horrible infliction that is absorbing short vocab into my everyday speech
