Super glue is very helpful in situations like that. Duct tape is also an option.

If duct tape doesn't work, you could try gorilla tape.

What age group? Or grade. Cause friends going separate ways and loosing touch is kinda normal. I know its not a fun thing to hear, but it happens. Out of all my friends from school, I'm still friends with only like 2 of them. And even they dont live near me. The closest one is an hour away.
