As my Spanish teacher says "you have to stop thinking in English" so basically don't try and translate everything word for word. Follow the grammar rules in Spanish. For example, in English we say "I like music" but in Spanish it's "me gusta la música" but it translates as the "music pleases me" not "I like music." So thinking grammatically in Spanish is better for you when forming sentence structures

Rojo means red. Senor means sir, seniorita means lady or something, hola means hello.

Speak Spanish outside of the class, even if it's to somebody that doesn't speak it themselves.

No problem! It's what's keeping my grade alive in my Spanish class

Yes! The Duolingo app was really helpful too

Duolingo is helpful, but only if you have a basic knowledge of the language already. I don't recommend it for people who are just starting a language.

@purple_sleevies I've taken a year of it already so I know how to conjucate things and I understand the basic grammar but I can't figure out how to do well in the class
