lgbt is a political topic. It's a thing in which government policy is made regarding, thats like the exact definition of political. The fact its a high emotion topic with extremely vocal detractors opposite it's advocates makes it even more so. The fact multiple countries have it various lgbt related states of being as illegal makes it even more so. Specifically for the US its an extremely political topic seeing as its something that current policy making is actively arguing about.

arguably everything is a political topic, the primary difference being to what degree its relevant to current or recent policy decisions, debates, or discussions.
