I have never watched Olympic Games, like ever. And I must say that I regret that now because that makes it impossible for me to boycott them.
.
The chinese run a soulless propaganda show in a rural piece of nature they literally raped and covered in tons of artificial snow (no natural snow of course at the place of the Winter Olympics). The IOC willingly and knowingly plays an active part in the Orwellian Peng Shuai charade, as they would do anything for money, like they always did. Apparently, during the opening ceremonies, Germany has been represented by a suspected doping athlete who has been famously and notoriously uncooperative with her team collegues thru her entire career. That's just what I know without even actively investigating into it. Did I say "China"?

My general thoughts are… what a waste. The Olympics…. It’s like we took all the pointlessness and sliminess and commercialization of regular pro sports and then balled them up and slapped an ironic sticker on them about how it’s all about the spirit of cooperation and ethics and global community- and people missed the irony.
At least regular pro sports only tend to upend the lives of thousands for a new venue every few decades- the Olympics rolls in back to back- 2 times every 4 years to give the host their excuse to pull out eminent domain and turn your family home into a portapotty for curlers to boink in before becoming an abandoned field, or “relocate” the “undesirables” and “clean up” the country for company. Any time adults make more money to do hobbies and play children's games than a teacher makes possibly in their career- I think it’s a waste.

And the poor athletes- most won’t make that much. They’ve put their whole lives into being a “sport”- some of these are “sports” in the way throwing cards in a hat is…. But great they do something they love.. probably. Not so great that we fluffed this whole thing up to the point that a kid could have the thought that they’ll go out and make a living or get rich or be a hero because they are great at skating fast or throwing a heavy frisby. Like- why don’t we make Olympic skills things that are useful, maybe like accounting or fact checking or driving safely and considerately or something? Stuff that these guys can use professionally outside the games and stuff that if you don’t make the games or get some big endorsement you can still do well for yourself or be someone’s hero? Or make it insane. Allow doping and cybernetics and crap. If this is supposed to be the peak of human performance- I want to see someone juiced out and rocking a robotic skeleton throw a freaking disc to the moon

At least then the money that goes into all this stuff might have some real practical trickle
Down. Robot legs that work. We can’t get this crap to work when it’s for people who need it to move or go about their day, but the second you allow competitors in a big money pro sport to use bionics we will have awesome bionic limbs within the decade.
We don’t know who is or isn’t really on drugs anyway, except to assume that most winners probably are doing something hinky in certain categories. So take the gloves off and let them go at it. And that ends the debate on “trans athletes” because anyone can join. Being born with an Adam’s Apple isn’t a real unfair advantage when your female opponent has 800% the test of a bull in heat and an arm made by caterpillar tractor company.
I dunnoh. If people like it good on them. Enjoy the Olympics. I think we need to either update them or cancel them. All the politics and BS go against what the supposed point of these games even is.
