What do you think about the war in Israel now?

There's only like ten people on here and you obviously made an account for what is going to be a controversial question, which I perfectly understand. But, since there's so few of us, you may as well just use your regular account to ask this question.

This is my regular account, I don't have another account
And I'm new here and I have no idea what is usually discussed here, so sorry if I exaggerated

Sorry, figured it was a burner account because there's no posts or comments

Also it's really peculiar to say it's not a burner account when the only activity regarding an account called "Jewish" is a question about the war in Isreal

I'm really a Jewish girl, and I just joined today
And the thing I am most interested in knowing as a Jew is what the world thinks about what is happening in Israel
I think this is an important discussion, but if it is too complex, we can stop the discussion here

To be honest with you, the whole situation is just horrible, and pretty much always has been. There's one side perpetually retaliating against each other, and the retaliations always end up being excessive. Hamas knew exactly what would happen when they went in and murdered and kidnapped people, and Israel responding by attacking a hospital for the third time in two years. There are always people blaming everything in the world on Jews even though there's only fourteen million of them versus over a billion Muslims and over two point three billion Christians. At the same time, when the Jews took the land Israel sits on, it was already occupied. They also keep trying to claim Palestinian land and then expecting everyone else to back them up on it, and a lot of nations do. I don't offer any solutions, but I think it's really obvious what actions are and aren't wrong, and both sides are making it virtually impossible to support them.

I used to always say that "Hamas isn't Palestine," you can't just blame Palestine for what terrorists do, but then it turns out that Hamas members are involved in running things and people get upset about aid being discontinued but you can't literally provide aid directly to your enemies, and Hamas are definitely not our friends. If both sides could just agree to boundaries and to stop crossing them, things might improve, but it's inevitable that a handful of individuals will find a way to set the fires again.

My feeling as a Jew is that people in the world do not understand what is happening in Israel
My cousin was murdered by Palestinians, not by Hamas
I know not all Palestinians are like this, but they are brought up to hate Jews and it's sad because everyone pays this painful price

Would you care to elaborate then, and enlighten us from your perspective about what is happening in Israel?
I'm sorry for your loss. Unfortunately a few rotten people can give a whole group a bad name, and skew representation of that group. I
have also heard (and I might be wrong so correct me if so) that Israelis are also often brought up to hate Palestinians. Unfortunately, as @nicengelman said, both parties need to agree on boundaries and stick to it, but obviously that's far easier said than done.

The citizens of Israel do not hate Palestinians, but they understand that in the current situation there is no Palestinian leadership that does not teach terrorism and hatred of Jews,
The understanding is that if we want to survive and not go through a third holocaust, we must behave like in the Middle East - "we only understand by force"
It doesn't come from a position of control, it's a survival mechanism

I am in Israel now and I was also here on the seventh of October
This is something that will never be forgotten, I spoke with an Auschwitz survivor who lives in Kibbutz Be'eri and she told me that she went through a second holocaust, her little grandchildren were murdered in front of her eyes, that's how it is, we Jews always suffer and will suffer from anti-Semitism, I have no explanation for this and I have no hope that people will sober up one day
