I think that it just means someone who has desirable traits,treats me right,and puts up with my bullshit and/or insanity.

Someone who is going the same way you are in life. You can journey and grow together. Doesn't automatically make the traveling easier. It's still hard work, it's just you're willing to stick with them and they're willing to stick with you no matter what.
