He sang to me a couple months ago at his concert here. Made me feel like a teenager freaking out about boys again lol. I'm just grateful he wasn't doing the hip thrusts like he did to another lady. O.O

Yes. He's someone I will pay to see every time he's in town. His shows are awesome nerd fests.

That is true about the Beatles, they certainly influenced a lot of future musicians

But how many people now days say they're influential simply because everyone says they are. There are tons of bands today that change themselves from album to album, experimenting with sounds, reinventing their sound. Yet they will go ignored by history. No one will call them influential. No one will say they're the greatest band of all time. In fact 90% of artists who experiment with their sound and change from album to album are mocked for it. Are ridiculed. People say, "i want the old _____ back. Thats when they were best." but yet a half century old band gets that honor.

Maybe time is helpful to the Beatles in this context. We can listen to all their albums and see them evolve from a safe distance but the ones that are doing it now maybe we're too invested in them and the change perhaps is unexpected or can feel like betrayal. Especially if a particular album really resonates with us, it might be hard to accept that band has moved on when we haven't.

The Beatles are remembered for doing it because they were successful with each album. They kept changing yet stayed familiar and expanded their fanbase instead of alienating it. They kept the Beatle feel throughout their library of albums. They were a unique and rare talent that doesn't come along often. They appealed to the masses and the die-hards alike. Like I said, if you don't like them then you don't like them but you can't say I'm wrong. In my opinion your negative attitude towards people who love them and praise them is distorting your opinion of the music itself. I listen to an extremely wide range of music and there are many good bands but few great ones and The Beatles are one of the greats. But that's just me.
