Dream paralysis? Is that another name for sleep paralysis?

Lol. Its cool. I just wasn't sure if it was something different. I didnt want to start answering and realize halfway through a convo we're talking about two different things. I myself have never experienced it. But my mom has once. And my gf is a frequent sufferer. The best advice ive researched and heard is that i understand you can tell its happening before you open your eyes. And all the advice things I've seen say to not open your eyes as that will decrease experiences and hallucinations.

I've read to scrunch your face like you'd smelled something disgusting. Supposed to break it right away

I've been on the phone with my gf when shes had them and ive had to call her name repeatedly to get her out. But yeah. I know don't open your eyes and concentrate on moving.

It happened to me almost every night when I was younger, but now it only occurs if I go to sleep completely exhausted.
A few weeks ago I was trying to fall asleep but I kept getting paralysis and had to stay up a while longer. It doesn't happen much in the morning when I wake up though.
