I have a friend who said smart and I was like WTF why and she said it was because you could get further in life, but really if ur kind you will be happy because you will have more friends and a good love life

Id want my child to be smart. In this life nowadays kindness wont take u too far. Being smart means u be kind when situations need u to be (like at work) or when u know others are good genuine people that should be respected and treated nicely. This gets you friends and you have a nice relationship with people you care about or even just strangers like when you offer your seat on the bus for someone else. But of course other situations require you to be stricter. This could be when some ones done you wrong, been unfair, or you need to have a professional outlook. Your efforts of being kind all the time (or most of the time) could be squashed by those who simply dont care... but being smart means u know when the right time is to be kind and not. This is my opinion x

Technically, I meant smart in the academic way. What you are describing is INTELLIGENCE

Intelligence can also be described in academic terms whilst smart could be for being smart in life... Your asking if I want my kid to be really clever at school and get good grades but be rude/mean to everyone else all their life (which can be overcome by good parenting skills teaching them right and wrong and also the benefits of being kind to the right people at the right time...street smart) or be really kind to everyone but have average/low grades that could affect their future and also risk people taking advantage them? Id still say smart (clever) x
