Like I don't really understand enzymes...

Enzymes are catalysts in reactions and inside of a cell. That's all I know.

Enzymes are a site for substrates to change into products. Like a lock and key. The enzyme is the lock, and the substrates go into it, like a key. (See first image on this site here: http://chemistry.elmhurst.edu/vchembook/571lockkey.html ) Enzymes can work faster when heat is increased, but too much heat can cause the enzyme to become denatured (broken, not working)

Another way of explaining it: Enzymes are biological catalysts, mainly proteins, generated by an organism to speed up chemical reactions. They have an active site on which the substrate is attached, and then broken up or joined.
