I've really wanted a pixie cut for about a year now. I am still convinced that I want it. The problem is, my mom doesn't want my hair to be cut short. I recently got it cut to shoulder-length, but that is the shortest she lets me cut my hair. I really really REALLY want a pixie cut though. My mom doesn't even have any valid reason why she doesn't let me cut it. Whenever I ask her, she says "just because I said so". My dad is alright with anything I do, he thinks it's my responsibility. How can I convince my mom to let me get a pixie cut?

Can you drive yourself and do you have the money for a haircut? If so you can just drive yourself and then get it done and to hell with what your mom says

So, I went through a similar phase of wanting to get my haircut to a pixie, I finally, got one against my dads wishes, and love it. The only reason it was a phase was because me not having short hair, and wanting it, didn't last long, you could of course say you're going to a friends to study, and get your haircut then, when explaining why to her, say you can do what you wish with your hair

Yeah, I can get myself to a hairdresser and I have the money, but I don't have the balls to just do it and don't care about what my mom says. It's that kind of feeling when your parents say they're disappointed in you, you know? I just don't want her to get mad or anything.

Oh yeah, I totally understand, but that was when they were alive, so like I would care if they ever said they were disappointed in me, but now that I live with my uncle, I already sorta know he hates me, and I'm thinking of getting a side shave, because he doesn't really care about me. But I definitely understand where you're coming from.

I'm so sorry... may I ask you how your parents passed away?

It's alright, but my mother died in a car crash, and that led my dad into deep despair, and so my dad killed himself

I'm so sorry... I hope you're alright. You're really strong, I don't think I could be as strong as you are in a situation like that...

Grow your hair out long and tell your mom you want to donate it. Pick something like Wigs for Kids (they require 12 inches) and go to get it cut. Explain to your mom that you're doing it to help cancer kids. It might convince her to let you get it cut short. (It worked for me anyways)

That's a good idea... I might just try that. Gottaa wait really long for my hair to grow long though.

We had the same dillema. I wanted to have an undercut but my mom won't allow me. Until that phase passed away…
