No bc the US picks too many fights that are ridiculously illogical and end up hurting us more than helping us. Examples include: Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
and then these become the cause of more problems. Example: ISIS

I would defiantly fight. If I sign up it means some other young fella might not have to. It's got nothing at all to do with a patriotic duty in my books, it's about the blokes next to you.
My help could be the difference between life and death for somebody else, so I'd take the risk every time. Watching others March off to defend your home/culture and not helping seems selfish. Sacrafices must always be made

Craft skills would keep me out of active combat as I can weld fairly well and have done so for a few years so no I wouldn't fight but I would support the war effort.

It would depend on the war. If it was the US doing another ground invasion of the middle east, I would flee to Canada. If it was a defensive war, hell yeah I would at least try (idk if I would make the cut though)

Home soil? Yes
All my Family lives in England, from long, to blood, relatives, and I'd much rather know that I did what I could to protect those that I love.
Going to war on enemy land though? No. I don't really believe in war, but if a dictator such as Hitler where to march his army (or sail) to British shores, you can bet I'll call up arms.

If anything were to happen like a foreign invasion I would absolutely at the drop of a hat. Now a rebellion is different it all depends on the scenario. Now @gaymingsinger what if the ground invasion was a UN coalition to destroy ISIS?

That's not a US invasion in the middle east. That would be the US working with other countries to fight ISIS, in which case I would need to look at how my education and job career would be effected. (I want to be a career politician) if I had nothing to lose in those two areas yeah if I pass the physical test (which I probably wouldn't because of my breathing and stamina problems)

Fair enough. Military service could actually help a career in government
