As long as your doctor has approved supliments and other medications to live healthy, go for it.

I've been doing a lot of research about it, because I want my decision to be informed if I'm going to commit to this lifestyle like I intend. I've scheduled an appointment with my doctor to talk to him about it.

You're already doing better than half the people I know that have tried to do it. If you know what you're getting into, have talked to a doctor, and can afford to purchase the things you'll need then there is no reason not to do it.

I've been talking to my sister's mother-in-law and philosophy teacher(who are both vegans), and both have given me advice on what foods to eat. I'm going in to see my doctor on Thursday, and I think I'm going to be okay. I'll kind of miss bacon, but...I just can't.

As long as you know the difference between vegan and vegetarian
deleted · 8 years ago
I know the difference. Vegetarians don't eat meat, bacon ham beef etc., but still consume milk and eggs. Vegan is abstaining from any product where an animal product was used. Interestingly enough, not just food, clothes too.

If you've got your heart set on it, don't let anything stop you.

What made you decide on the change
deleted · 8 years ago
We were discussing animal rights in my philosophy class this week. And I watched the process of how they get the bacon I eat, or the chicken nuggets I like, or the milk I drink. I watched the entire process of a pig being slaughtered in a slaughter house, and I felt sick. Now whenever I look at bacon, or milk, or chicken, I think of those videos and I feel physically ill. It just doesn't feel right to me.

If you ever decide you want to use animal products again, you can look into brands that are sustainable/organic. Those products are obtained without causing animals unnecessary harm/discomfort. That way you can enjoy your milk and bacon without thinking about animal suffering. Going to your local farmer's market is a great way to find cruelty-free food. Anyway, best of luck!

I'm still new to the vegan diet. And I still have to talk to my doctor. If I need to, that's something I've been considering too. Thank you unicycle.

There are a lot of false media sources and propaganda against the livestock community, and I'm hear to tell you that even the smallest farm takes dn good care of their livestock

People talk shit, but in reality, no one gives a fuck with what you eat. Just do you, bruh, and everything else will fall in order.
