So it's not just a 12 hr shift like 3-4 times a week ? And yes I've noticed the public doesn't really like them , but I do plan in being the difference , currently I'm a cna so it definitely helps me a lot to deal with patience and things like that , but like u said I also have to learn to be more strict so they don't think they can do whatever they want. And also do you know if you have to be tasered and pepper sprayed to pass the class ?

You don't have to be tasered and yes you might have to be sprayed, but this depends on the department. I'm not too sure on the shifts. My friend's brother used to complain about working long hours so thats how I know. Why don't you ask the academy? Or do some research on the internet in the field you want to go into. And yes defo be strict coz you are a beautiful girl so people might not take you seriously.

Well that's kind of a relief ! And I guess shifts also depend where you are , I live in a small town that nothing really ever happens. I just haven't found the time to go to an Academy and ask , I could ask my advisor but I would have to make an appointment with him as well. And I've tried searching on the Internet like I said I think it's different everywhere so I don't get a sure answer . And thank you for the comment , but as soon as it's time to get serious I will be serious !

Actually I think the requirement about be tasered and sprayed is a state by state thing because I'm a criminal justice major (going into law though) but our police officers have to be tased and sprayed.

Im currently a criminal justice major in school and one thing I've learned is that even though someone may make a poor choice they are still human. Alot of cops tend to forget that. And alot of people tend to forget that cops are people too who at the end of the night just want to go home to their families.

That's very true, I know I will have a lot of disagreements with people but that's where my cop side comes out, and I know not to take these things personal. Do you work long shifts?

Im not working in my career yet but i dont doubt I will.

I know my local PD has 3 different shifts. Either you work 6AM-2PM, 2PM-10PM or 10PM-6AM. Not every PD is going to be like that, but it might give you an idea.

Those shifts sound pretty good actually , I hope ours are like that somewhat , I think it is bc around those times u see a lot of cops going back to the department to switch spots !
