Maybe you could google it.

I did google it, it said the laws require shaving, but there are lots of things Jewish and Christian rules require that people don't do, so I'm trying to find out

I think it's suggested that you should, but I'm not entirely sure if you have to, for men and women.
Whether people actually do it, I wouldn't know I don't exactly ask my friends if they shave their pubes.

It really depends on the person I guess. Just like praying and eating pork and such.

You know, there are a lot of people who say that they don't like Christianity because it has a lot of rules, but I'd honestly beg to differ. For Catholicism, the only rules falling outside of the ten commandments are the Golden Rule and the three guidelines for marriage (must be open to new life, must be freely consented to, and must be lifelong). I'm not even joking, that's literally it. I have no idea how other Christians make their rules, but for Catholics that's all you need to know.
Sorry if I offend anyone! Hopefully I've helped people gain a slightly better understanding of how Catholicism works.

Do unto others as you wish to be done upon to you.

Thats really just an excellent rule to live by, regardless of beliefs.

Ok I thanks for the answers. I'm guessing it's a no meat in Friday's kind of thing, but wasn't sure. I was hoping there would be a few Muslim users who could weigh in, but no worries. Cheers mates!

I lived in the Middle East and I can tell you that most Muslim men do not shave their pits regularly. Dunno about genitals though and I'm not keen on finding out quite yet. Don't know about women, however.

You have to shave your pubes once every month (or whenever it grows alot). Not shaving your armpits isn't a sin, but shaving them is considered a good thing, so it's your choice.

You don't 'have' to do anything. Dad is Muslim and doesn't do those things. Women do these things no matter the religion anyway. What you read iMaybe if ur the more religious type then yeah possibly.
What @myballsitchstill said is true. They do say you should do these things, and it is for both men and women. But this is just recommended. It is for hygiene. Nothing to do with sins but more religious people may take it as that.

I now have a question!
Why? Why would their religion require them to share their armpits and genitals?
Like they can't eat pig because ... I kinda forgot but it has a rational reason
myballsitchstill · 8 years ago
@rosalina I think it was a hygiene thing from long ago. I know back when the no pork law was created there were lots of people getting sick from undercooked pork (that's what happens when you only have camp fires), so it made a lot of sense for the religion to adopt that as a rule. I think with religions, if you say the God said something people are more likely To believe it, rather than just some ransom person saying it.
