Here's mine:
7. Powerful, well developed rival, like Cheren, Bianca, or Hugh, but please don't make them like OR/AS Wally. Seriously, his emotions felt very overplayed and it just felt fake.
6. Focus on the "character" part of major characters. Show what the Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Champion are actually like outside of challenging them ( I think BW/B2W2 did decently well on this front)
5. Major focus on an interesting, compelling story, in the realm of Platinum or the Unova games
4. Interesting, threatening Antagonist Organization that actually makes you care about stopping them (the opposite of team Rocket)
3. A lot of new Pokemon and a few evolutions to older ones, not a slew of Megas. Pokemon that need an evolution should get an evolution, not a Mega. Also, put a really strong emphasis on the new Pokemon, so that people will use them and be familiar with them. X&Y introduced only 78 new Pokemon, and a lot of them are pretty forgettable.

2. Challenge. A good, honest, brutal challenge in every aspect. I want to lose to gym leaders and rivals when I'm underleveled, and I want it to be easy to be underleveled. Revert to the old Exp Share; I should have to work for my levels. I remember playing Firered and Sapphire and losing to RIvals and Leaders and the Elite Four and STEVEN (OH MY GOD). It really made me feel satisfied to beat them. Nowadays, I can clear the Kalos E4 in a lunch break, with my level ~70 team (because that's where you'll be if you battle everyone and keep the Exp. Share on the whole time). Remove some of the challenge-eliminating features, or at least tone them down.
1. Put some real soul into the game. I can tell by the trailers that PS&PM will be better in this regard, hopefully. X&Y and to a lesser extent OR/AS, felt like a feature list. It felt impersonal, it felt like a bunch of mechanics with a game engine. This is the hardest part to even describe, but I think some people understand what I mean.

So far I want pretty much everything already stated. I also want dlc...like to be able to beat this elite four, then travel to Kalos, and have some of the stuff that seemed unfinished finally be finished. Or just to finish things that don't make sense there like they did in Kalos (the power plant area, and one of the train stations for example). I'd like to have more online interaction, not just battling, but group head it in amie maybe. Something just fun to do with someone else. Bring back the berry machines and let me play with my online friends.
And I want an eeveelution counterpart to sylveon...
I want more fun things to do and keep up with other than battling and filling out pokedexes. Like secret bases or pr videos and join avenue. I want all the wonderful things from each previous game in this game. And even if I get a fraction of it, I'll just be happy my wait for another Pokemon game is over.

1. If they're going to keep the exp. share distribution to all team members, make the exp. share either hard to get or only obtainable after about the 5-6th gym.
2. I want these games to have solid pacing. X and Y had horrendous pacing and so did Diamond and Pearl to an extent.
3. The Alola region needs a large regional pokedex to stand out and to make it replayable. I've noticed that games with smaller regional pokedexes are not as replayable because of limited options (I can play the Hoenn, Kanto, and Unova games over and over again because of a lot of options)
4. Interesting villains are vital to this game, otherwise the evil team will feel like a waste of time

Man, I just want Solgaleo to not be fucking weak to fire.
All this other stuff sounds great, but this is GameFreak and Nintendo we're talking about. They're already making the game easier by adding supereffective/noteffective boxes when you encounter a Pokemon for the second time, who knows what other bullshit they'll pull out for the hand-holding generation.
I still buy and play Pokemon games, and I probably will forever, but the future is not exactly bright.
We have to keep in mind that they're kids games and nothing more.

One could hope in the future they have levels of difficulty, or perhaps you could disable certain hand holding features in a menu.

You know what I really really want? DLC. I know it's already been said but I honestly would like a slightly cheaper game, with a cunt ton of DLC. Like having an updated Kanto or Johto, BUT they are not the main production. They are secondary projects, and may be released after the game and not right away.
Also having Pokemon walk behind you, BECAUSE WHY NOT ALL FUCKING READY

Dlc can totally make a game ten times better. X and y would have benefitted so much from that. And honestly most Pokemon games would. I don't see why they aren't doing that. It's the perfect type of game for it.
