TL:DR- America's entrance into WW1 disrupted the balance of power causing The Treaty Versailles to be signed. This created the conditions for Hilter's rise to power who caused WW2 and the holocaust.

America was dragged into WW1 by Woodrow Wilson. The general opinion of the American people during the time was that this was a European war, that most of the rest of the world was dragged into it because of European imperialism, and that they should handle their own problems. The conditions for Hitler's rise to power and his dragging us all into WW2 were created because of The Treaty of Versailles and Europe's lust for vengeance. A treaty only possible because of America's late entrance in the war caused the central powers to be so outmatched they'd have to accept any surrender conditions. America shouldn't fight in European wars because they unbalance the horrid self destructive nature of European wars that seem to have haunted the continent since the fall of the Roman Empire, which creates more wars when vengeful treaties are thrown off. Thankfully Europe seems to have finally gotten over its lust for war.
