People like me who have bad grades (whether it be struggling or just loss of motivation) tend to have parents who religiously check their grades online. This often results in interrogation for why the grades are so low.
A common excuse is that the teacher/professor just didn’t update the grades for individual assignments yet, causing the overall semester grade to drop really low. Some teachers are actually like that with not updating assignments, which causes the lie to work for a bit while you get your shit together, but the jig is up after a while.
