Sorry to ruin your fun Kibbles, but I'm not going to get into a huge argument either. I just hear people spout off all the time about specs and how Mac "can't compare", but since they run completely different systems its not really oranges to oranges (apples to apples would be a little too literal). I was just really disagreeing with your first statement about no hard drive and disc drive, and actually being able to do things on its own. If my 2011 macbook didn't work great, I'd consider buying one of these, I'm just waiting for it to be upgraded to 16gb ram.

Have you ever used a mac? I disagree that this has a fraction of the features of a windows computer, other than the lack of ports, but if you use wifi for most things, that's not a huge issue. Other than some software, macs have all the same if not a few other features than windows (in fact I have windows 10 in a virtual machine on my mac http://www.pcworld.com/article/2824227/how-to-install-the-windows-10-technical-preview-on-a-mac.html). And you also won't find a 1 tb ssd for any cheaper than $400, so I can't imagine a computer with 4 times the memory would be cheaper (unless its a regular hard drive). Admittedly, I am a mac fan, but that's because I had 2 pcs crash in 2 years (1 on the morning I had an exam I was taking on that computer). I recommend you use one for a little while before you just assume that higher spec numbers actually make a better computer. Also, if you found a computer you like, you can get an external disk drive for like $30.

it has a 256gb or 512gb ssd... who uses discs anymore? All software can be downloaded or installed via usb (this has usb type C)... and if you really need a cd burner, you can buy one, but most computers are phasing optical drives out (here's an article from 2013 if you don't believe me http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/discs-are-dying-how-to-live-without-a-laptop-optical-drive/)
