I'd watch the news more often if it were like this.

People who make comments like that truly worry me because they think physically abusing others is the norm.

Maybe the neighbours were naughty, and with the cost of coal nowadays he said, "Screw it; they get nothing."

I agree that non-consensual sex is a definition for rape. I think (just my opinion) what the post was hinting at is that if, as a society, we simply use the neutral definition of the act rather than the name of the act (which has a negative connotation), then we strip the act of its monstrosity. When it comes to rape, we have to acknowledge that it is indeed a monstrous act and should use the word for it. We should be focusing on the negative nature of the act in order to deter people from committing it. I sincerely hope what I said makes sense because I feel like I'm not translating my thoughts into words very well.

@thatguyyouknow I'm still confused by your answer to @unklethan 's question. What are some concrete examples of ways we can help? It's been my experience (remember, my personal experiences don't reflect others experiences) that asking people if they need help or asking how I can help gets me replies like, "I'm okay, really. Don't worry about it" or "It's no big deal." So, as someone who isn't a professional, I can either inform that person's family or contact a hotline myself on behalf of that person.

Well, we don't know if he studies art or not. Because some people with autism pay attention to little details (particularly of things that interest them) and many have a more active visual centre of the brain, some people can draw objects/people accurately from memory. I had a student who loved Blue's Clues and he could draw any non-human character perfectly, including the right amount of bubbles for Slippery Soap and the right amount of pepper flakes for Mrs. Pepper.

Please see my last comment right above yours. If that's a possibility for you, then it could be helpful to wait before applying to college.

I understand your point, but is it necessary to go to college immediately after high school? Perhaps someone can get a job (not necessarily a career-defining job) first to develop some skills and interests, then make a more informed decision when applying to college.

Is "write" in quotation marks because you meant "type?" Not being snarky; legitimately want to know.

No, I don't think that the writers meant it like that. Did you stick with the career choice you made as a teen? I did not, and I do not live with my parents, I have a house, a car, I pay bills, etc., AND I'm much more satisfied with the career I chose in my 20s. Also, I don't see any mention of a "high paying job" as you mentioned. The career I have now pays far less than the one I started out in, yet my current career is much more satisfying.

That's going to be hard to beat (yes, both figuratively and literally). I think that was a super sweet gesture.
