Look directly under his foot you can see the wheel of the cart. The rest of the grid like cart aren't readily visible because the picture is blurred and the cart was moving when it was taken.

Pssh, people please not only did he sleep with a mythical divine stallion and bear a 8 legged horse/child.... He did it as a favor for Zeus and Thor! And in doing so, he saved the Norse goddess of love, and moon, and the bloody sun! Oh and in edgewise...... This one act saved all of Asgard (domain of the gods) by allowing the legendary walks of Asgard to be built, which protected the lands of the gods even better than Thor could on a good day. Mythology buff to the rescue!
