Be careful what you wish for. Knowing the truth about life will not make you happy, and it can never be forgotten.

The happiest woman I know is the most stereotypical blonde I have ever met. She is married with three kids and everyone likes her. She never went to university. She isn't stupid, but I would probably say oblivious. She is hardly ever unhappy. Plus she is very good looking; most things just fell into her lap throughout her life. Her life is simple. Then on the other hand, the cleverest guy I know is habitually depressed. It is as much a part of him as his arms and legs. He views the world exactly as it is, and this depresses him. The sheer futility of life seems insurmountable and suffocating to him. Currently he is studying for his PhD but not many things make him happy. I fully expect him to commit suicide one day. These sort of experiences have made me realise that ignorance and self-delusion are absolutely integral to a happy life. Ironically, knowing this fact puts you on the wrong side of the divide. Ignorance is bliss.

And your intellect will make you angry and miserable. Ignorance is bliss.

Although on the other hand you might be forever alone..
