What do you have against labels mgoveia? Black people are black and white people are white. It is a fact that they're different races. There's no point in outright ignoring facts.
And I'm not sephoria, but where do you gut off assuming someone hasn't earned anything in life based solely on the fact that they're proud of their race?

Police brutality is never supposed to be a part of policing. Shitty neighborhoods are not the cause of police brutality, shitty police officers are. Whether its from lax training or bad character or whatever, officers are responsible for their own behavior.
I do understand that if there was less violence in general there would be less incidents of officers being overly violent, but that doesn't really solve the problem, it just makes it irrelevant (hypothetically).

Yeah I see this a lot too, and I'm pretty much as white as you can get. I wouldn't say fuck them, but it would certainly be silly to apologize for acting outside your own stereotype.

Exactly. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging race (or skin color), it's only bad if you connect stereotypes to it.

Patrolling a violent neighborhood doesn't justify police brutality. It's unacceptable anywhere that it happens, so we can't blame particular neighborhoods for it.

Real Jews are all Hebrew, as Jews are said to be the Chosen People, so converts are just fake Jews, as their bloodline is not of the Chosen People.
And I suppose you can argue semantics if you want, but it is well know that the word "Hebrew" is used to identify Semitic Israelis, i.e. the chosen people since ancient times.
Otherwise they wouldn't be stereotypes 11 comments

Yes, but not the true behavior of the group. Just because lots of black people like KFC doesn't mean all black people like KFC or that liking KFC is somehow unique to black people.
The is no point to your assertion.

I don't know, I think it's an awfully large leap going from "stop talking about it" to "stop using the term so lightly". Maybe, but I find it dubious.
Also, highlighting one race isn't racist, in order for it to be racist it would have to suggest that one race is superior.
Either way Morgan's still wrong, as using "racist" more responsibly won't, in itself, solve racism.
Morgan freeman on racism 25 comments
guest · 9 years ago
That's definitely a problem, but that doesn't mean the solution is to stop talking about racism in general.
Racist ideals and opinions won't just go away if non-racist people stop talking about them.
Morgan freeman on racism 25 comments

Exactly. Not talking about murder doesn't stop murder, so why would not talking about racism stop racism?

Indeed. And we also have things like the Doppler Effect, where the sound of an object can be subjective depending on your position compared to it relative to time. Not that that directly relates to whether there actually was sound or not.

What type? It addresses a question that science either can't or has yet to answer, i.e. the nature of the persistence of causality.

You guys are missing the point. It a philosophical question, not a scientific one. It's meant to question the validity of the assumption of a persistent causality.
Essentially it questions the assumption that the world that is as it is perceived is derived from a world that "is as it is".
The question itself is unanswerable because if no one/nothing is there to experience the tree falling it's impossible to conclusively prove that it made a sound.

Piracy explained 8 comments
guest · 9 years ago
The logic of the company not making the money is flawed in two ways.
Firstly, not getting something is not the same as having something stolen from you. No one stole that money.
Secondly, this logic makes the assumption that anyone who pirates something would buy it legitimately if piracy wasn't an option. Something that is far from realistic.

You just said the opposite of what you said in your previous post. If someone was into you and you were starting to feel uncomfortable would you or would you not simply say "I'm not interested?" In the first post you said she wouldn't, and in the next one you said you would. Please clarify.

Anybody who thinks her rant isn't at least a little over blown needs to reevaluate what they consider an appropriate responses in general.

That really only applies to being in person. You can't tell if your being ignored for sure on the internet. It's awfully presumptuous to thing that someone would definitely know you weren't interested just by a lack of response.

Teenagers are not more mature than children, because they are children. They are of course generally more mature that children younger than them and less mature than children older than them, because that's how maturing works. Kids don't have some sort of massive jump in maturity on their 13th birthday, it's gradual throughout life. The point at which you become a teenager is arbitrary and that fact is that teenagers are children.
Are you a teenager perhaps? That might explain your inability to accept the definition of a child as many teenagers don't want to thing of themselves as children, though they are.

Firstly I'll say that I agree completely with your opinion. Those are the exact steps I would take in that situation.
The problem I have with your first sentence (which I realize by how you phrased it that it's not your opinion) is that by making life as bad as it can possibly be, does that not make it impossible for it to get any worse?
