Pretty sure the OP is not a native speaker of eanglish, thus the grimm wording. As a dog owner I would say that procedure scared the shit out of this poor dog, with all thiose people acting awkward with him. He should have had fun and sncks until the very end which he should not see coming. Dogs pick up peopleas mood very easily, so in such a case you best lie to him as best you can.

If you see her as a real close friend just tell her. In many cases smart and sharp people have really little self confidence and try to hurt rather than get hurt. If she did not see anything in you, she would not be with you anyway, so chances are pretty good, she will adjust her behaviour. If not, you're just her punching ball anyway, so you can tell her to get fucked.
