for my birthday last year, less than 5 people wished me a happy birthday. 2 of them actually remembered while the rest sent me birthday greetings because they heard from the 2. it's kind of sad when you're surrounded by people who think are your friends, but only a couple actually remmebers and puts in the effort to wish a happy birthday. it definitely made me resent all the rest of my friends and that resentment made me decide not to send them birthday greetings on their birthday. call me childish, but yeah, it hurts when you remember theirs, but they don't even put in the effort to remember yours.
