I work for UPS. I'm in the process of trying to get a full time driving position. I've driven seasonally. The driver doesn't have a schedule per say. You are given a list of your stops and you have deliver them as efficiently as possible. Management is incredibly strict. They track your deliveries down to the second. When you are out there you are more interested in just getting stops off as fast as possible. They don't allot you any time to deliver to anyone at specific time. If you aren't there at time of delivery you can always sign your delivery notification (so long as you don't live in a high risk area/apartment/ or are receiving a high value pkg) and they will driver release it to you. Or you can always just call up your local center and retrieve the pkg there at your earliest conveince. Honestly drivers get caught in the middle of giant shit storm between customers and management. It's no surprise to me when drivers snap like what happened in Birmingham last year.
