Well in Germany you need to have health insurance. You pay for it every month but when you're having a baby you don't really have to pay a lot. A little for the room I think, but that also depends on how long you're staying in the hospital after you gave birth. We also have a really low birth rate and the government is desperate to raise it. If we had to pay 30,000 $ for giving birth no one in their right mind would have a child.
