Helmets are like seat belts. Wearing them can save your life but it should be up to you to put the damn thing on and if you don't, you deal with the consequences, even if that means death. Laws forcing people to wear them are silly (however child seat belt laws are reasonable because kids aren't old enough to make that kind of decision).
