The current model of the universe is unclear on what caused the Big Bang or how life was first created. It is certainly possible to say that some form of higher power put them there because science doesn't have a better answer.

I think they didn't.

Looking back I realize that the reason I didn't try to kill myself in 7th grade is because my favorite author had a list of all the books she was coming out with for the next five years and every time I thought it might be a good idea to kill myself I remembered that list and how I really wanted to read those books and if I killed myself I would never get to read them and I didn't even realize that I wanted to kill myself because the desire to read those books was so strong. I really wanted to run away though and thought about that almost every day. What I'm saying is find something you want that happens in a couple of years and tell yourself how horrible it would be to never get the thing every time you think about killing yourself.
