I see no problem with teaching religion as long as you teach evolution as well and do so in different classes. But I think not teaching religion because you think we world was created differently is wrong. Religion isn't only about how different people think the world has been created. A lot of a society's values are based on their religion. So I think to understand your own cultures values and other cultures values better you need to learn about the different religions. In my country both is taught - we have a religion class and evolution is taught within biology class.
