Oh, and with regards to the "scientists" who are ten times smarter than me and think god must exists cause its all so friggin complicated... really? Exactly all this complication makes it even less likely all this is based on a master plan. Self organization and evolutionary processes however explain all this complication pretty good actually. This "its all so complicated so there must be higher beings" is the base of most polytheist religions by the way. Those monotheist desert kids just had so little inspiration.

There is actualy quite a lot of proof that the existence of a higher being is not needed to explain the existence of matter and beings. It is not to be found in the bible, but its out there. Just because there is a technical uncertainty left does not make the existence of higher powers any more likely.
Also I want to protest the assumption that atheists deny spirituality, they deny religions and gods, actually at least partly because that is just what manipulative and power hungry MEN made of mankinds natural, inherent spirituality.

None of you religious folks can prove there are no unicorns. So, now I decide that I believe they do. My parents gave me books with Unicorns in them, so its a traditionional belief. So you must respect my belief. So I can just stand here and say: it is pretty much exactly likely that unicorns exist as it is likely they do not exist. I have as much reason to believe in them as you have not to believe in them, so we must agree to disagree or otherwise you are bullying me. And because I have never read anything that might make me doubt their existence, I dare all the nonbelievers to quote me the proof that unicorns do not exist. Makes a lot of sense, I begin to understand why the us american school system is regarded as the best there ever was.

Other guest. I do not need respect for what I believe, cause there is ton of evidence to prove my point. This may be the reason why religious nuts always demand respect for their mental illness, cause deep down inside they KNOW they have nothing on their side but some bullshit fairytales.

Thats what I am talking about, you have your silly little beliefs. I have tons of proof. Is it 100% sure god does not exist,? No, of course not. Its a fragment less than 100%. Opposed to that, the idea that there is a creating mind behind everything is just a fairytale based on a complete lack of knowledge. Ifg this was a long time ago, I should grant you the benfit of doubt (even though atheists have more or less proven their point thousands of years ago) but in the 21st century? If this is hard to grasp for ypu, just stay out of discussions about your belief, easy as that. I let people live their live and believe whatever the fuck they want, as long as they dont come and talk shit like its the same thing to believe or not to believe. Its not the same thing and if you don't get it, then cause you are not that smart I guess. So maybe I should not waste any time on you, should I?

Dog consoles his owner who is going through a meltdown 20 comments

Actually dogs just want to make sure their folks are not upset bcause of them, this "consolidation" behaviour is pretty much exactly the same pattern as when you are angry at them. You will find out when you get a dog with a really strong ego, that does not care too much, when youre mad at it. Have fun with your meltdown, cause you be on your own then.

I am sick and tired of the desperate and feeble attempts to put religion and atheism on a level playing field. Atheism is based on logic and science, religion is based on the complete absence of both. Its not a 50/50 chance either side is right, its is an itsybitsy less than 100% vs. a tinywiny little more than 0 %.
And why would I have to "respect" a belief? Where exactly does that stop? When is a belief absurd and wack enough, I don't have to respect it any more?
