Jackson didn't ''kill the banks'' he ended the national bank, the old version of the Federal Reserve. It did not cause the economy to crash. No states took over printing the greenback, only the federal government can print the greenback. This country is most certainly not 'most efficient' when running a deficit, that's ridiculous. Also there weren't highways during Jackson's life. The construction of the Interstate Highway System began after Federal Aid Highway Act was passed... in 1956. Jackson was dead when American highways were built. Jesus, get your facts straight.
Jackson is a really interesting historical character. On one hand he ended the national bank and did great things for this country. On the other he caused the Trail of Tears, after the Supreme Court said it would be unconstitutional to do so.
