Good grief what bad punctuation. Just shoot me, world.

I meet many Englishmen who feel as they were programmed to feel by the political agents of a nation that is almost a century further advanced in socialist philosophy than are we where the government views all its populace as a chronic citizen-cum-puer eternus, useless eater. What I explain is only natural law. A group of children, once bitten, will be reluctant to harass and corner a stray dog a second time. History makes it very plain that the balance between anarchy and bloody dictatorship is not too definite. Equality is very difficult to endow except that every man truly be king in his own home. Once insured of this, however, one respects another's capabilities to enforce absolute rule on his own property, at need. It may be alarming, and while certainly not perfect, far from it; but I assure you we have never invoked press gangs, or debtor's prisons, on our soil.
