Yea, this post is the worst kind of logical fallacy. It shows a lack of understanding of this situation, or an unwillingness to accept the complexities.

This has been going on for over a hundred years to the point at which the symbol is recognizable and everyone understands it means medicine. Much like the pound sign is now said as hash tag. The term president was actually chosen to sound menial. Language and symbols change with use.

How about if you are interested in a girl's personality you don't refer to her cheast as "tits"... a term that is specifically used to objectify a woman.

Personally I have no interest in a ring, but a ring is tradition that shows a significant commitment. It means you are mature and financially stable.You don't like it, don't do it.
It doesn't have to be huge. However, giving a woman a ring like that says, I didn't save or I haven't been thinking about this for very long.
