I'm not in school anymore, but was never a fan of these things and probably would have gotten in trouble because if you tell me to turn the phone off and not have it out, that's absolutely fine, but it is my property and will stay with me at all times. I never ran into that issue at school because I knew I'd refuse to give it up if I was caught using it, so I didn't use it.
