True but a child that age does not know if he's gay or not. His father just doesn't know any better and thinks he's doing good by not teaching his son- or in other words not preparing him for this world. Like a guest previously mentioned, we thank our teachers and parents for the things they taught us and prepared us for rather than for the things they failed to teach us.
