The crash was years ago. We're sitting at 5% unemployment (in the US) with it likely to dip below that here in a month or two. If you can't find a job, you're just not looking in the right place.

A parent isn't supposed to give up on their child. If you truly can't control your child, you need to seek professional help, not have the police conduct a mock "arrest".

If the mother had done her job as a parent in the first place, she wouldn't need to resort to using the police as a teaching method. Police can do more good than harm but only if you teach children to respect the police. "Be good or the police will get you!" is not a great way to raise any child. BTW, it was five men and one woman indicted in Baltimore, MD.

This is a terrible thing to do to a child. If you create in their mind that the police are the "Boogeyman" who will come and arrest you for small infractions, they will grow up to fear the police. If the child needs help when they are older, they may not run to the police for help. Raise them to respect and trust police when they are young and they will be better citizens for it when they are older.
