Guys the only reason BET, black beauty pageants, etc. came about was because there was hardly any representation or recognition of people of color in mainstream media. Black people are not racist for wanting to feel represented in a culture that only acknowledges it's Caucasian counterparts. Historically black colleges and universities exist because people of color weren't originally allowed to attend most colleges because of their skin color. For a while, in America and other places, being a person of color was a handicap and it isn't fair that they are called racist for wanting equal opportunities and equal recognition.
