Oh for the love of....the pennies were made of steel, not silver. Where did you pick up that bit of (false) wisdom?

Now, it's true that 50 cent pieces were alloyed with silver prior to...IIRC, 1965. So, a Ben Franklin 50 cent piece or a '64 Kennedy half dollar might be worth more than 50 cents depending on the wear.
