He's from the Great Barrier Reef - which is Australia. Top right for about a 1/3 of the way down (ish). The first one the 'big' journey was getting to Sydney from there

The flag part - I've been to US twice, spent 8 weeks there - and still didn't get used to seeing flags everywhere! It's kind of cool, but def strange - especially the HUGE ones at like car dealerships
