In the whole of Europe, manuals are the most common transmissions. I'm on my 4th car, and it's a 6 speed manual, the previous ones were all 5 speeds. The company vans I drive are 6 speed manuals. All other people's cars I've driven were manuals, save one. I once drove an auto, and didn't think it added anything. It took all of 30 seconds to adjust.
