It says they were waiting for the school bus... Not waiting at the bus stop... In other words, the issue is one cannot comment as there is not enough details... Were they playing in the street at the bus stop? We don't know... The fact is still, we need to try to look at ways to prevent this from happening...

Sad story, but (and not to be insensitive), the kids these days are not taught how to cross a road. Being involved with first on scene with many incidents, the kids and even adults just walk across the road without looking for on coming traffic. When I was small I recall that we were taught numerous times a year of the procedures to follow, and these are not taught anymore :-( I agree, the driver should not have just driven off ( yet, sometimes it is not safe to stop, depending where the incident happens, but then the driver must go to the nearest police station)... The issue is that it might be the education systems fault.
