If you take the bible literally then the flood happened before those civilizations appeared since it wasn't till after the flood that people spread. And there are records/stories from places all over the world recounting a great flood. And there has been findings of soil deposits and rock formations that imply there was flooding. Not saying Noahs flood is true just saying that if you take it literally your argument won't persuade a believer
