Edison didn't actually steal Tesla's stuff. Tesla sold the rights to Westinghouse, who then used AC power to beat Edison into the ground. The whole Tesla/Edison rivalry is pretty over exaggerated. Tesla kept going and working on new shit on government grants until his experiments stopped producing quick results and the government cut him off.

I think the thing that surprised me the most was how much time they devoted to the Thor Drax romance...Dave Bautista really shows off his range as a power bottom...

This is more of a problem in america. Most places in the world don't extort people over vision as much as the US does.

Doom wasn't great, but also wasn't the worst video game movie by far. If they didn't do that final sequence were it was like he was playing the game it probably would have been even better. Until then the movie was actually a pretty standard sci-fi/horror movie, then they forced that in and took it straight to campy video game status.

A truly good writer can tell a compelling story while using intelligence and logic as well. The fantastical can be forgiven if it is presented well.
Then again, we don't see Micheal Bay movies for their compelling stories.
