Totally agree. I think ‘Black Science Man’ is trying to cultivate an image as some sort of bad ass of the business - which he is - but he comes across as snarky, holier than thou, and contrarian just to be contrarian. Now to his credit, he has a bachelors in physics from Harvard, a Ph.D. in astrophysics from Colombia, has written numerous books and scientific papers, been a regular on science radio and TV shows, and done a ton to generate curiosity about the cosmos among people who might not normally give it a second thought. He’s earned his stripes and has forgotten more about science than most of us will ever know. Yes, he SHOULD be confident and assertive about his knowledge and success. But maaan, his delivery just makes me cringe. Sometimes I think he just needs a really good personal image consultant. But that kind of thinking is above my pay grade.
